Noel Gallagher surprise appearance

Noel Gallagher made a surprise appearance as a support act at a Paul Weller gig in Bristol on Monday night.

The Oasis star performed a half-hour solo set for the stunned 2,000-strong crowd.

Before launching into his hit Stand By Me, Gallagher joked that he was the winner of a "Stars In Their Eyes" show.

He performed several other Oasis hits as well as the Beatles classic Help before Paul Weller took to the stage.

A spokesman for the venue said: "It was a shame to keep Noel's appearance a secret but we had to do it.

"He was very relaxed and I think his performance showed that. He was superb," the spokesman added.
