Oasis have played the first live date of their world tour without guitarist and songwriter Noel Gallagher.
Brother Liam was the only original member on stage as the band performed in front of 10,000 people in Milan, Italy.
Before they went on, Liam gave an interview warning the band would split up if Noel ever recorded a solo album.
But he insisted that the latest bust-up between the brothers would not spell the end of Oasis.
The band coped admirably without the missing Noel and the enthusiastic Italian crowd did their best to encourage them.
Paul Weller's guitarist Matt Deighton was drafted in to help out, with Gem Archer switching from rhythm to lead.
Liam, wearing a buttoned-up denim jacket and flowery shirt, announced their arrival by saying: "Hello, no-one's dead yet - be cool, let's have it."
He dedicated Acquiesce to "our kid" and acknowledged Gem's performance on guitar.
The band played just three songs from their latest album, Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants, but belted out five hits from Definitely Maybe, including Supersonic and Cigarettes And Alcohol, finishing with Rock 'n' Roll Star.
Liam earlier admitted that Oasis would carry on, as long as Noel did not decide to go it alone.
"When you do a solo album, how can you back?" he told The Sun newspaper.
"I am not there to be a shelter for him any more. If he goes down that road, he can't go and say 'OK let's start Oasis again'. If he does a solo album then Oasis will be over."
Noel, 32, walked out on the world tour last week, saying he was not prepared to play outside the UK again.
He also launched a verbal attack on his younger brother, saying he had become too big for his boots.
But Liam, 27, dismissed the latest row as being nothing serious.
"We've had a couple of fights in our lifetime¿but that's brothers for you.
"I have had disagreements with everyone, not just Noel. It just goes on with Noel and me, but that's fine."
